Harrisburg Area Museum brings farm history to life

Harrisburg Area Museum

The Harrisburg Area Museum, at 490 Smith St., offers models of historic buildings, collections of cameras and buttons; antique farm equipment and engines; a blacksmith shop; household items; pictures and biographies of settlers; a 1867-era house and household items; an Overland automobile and a chapel. It is best known, though, for its display of miniature buildings and other creations made of wood by the late Bruce Witmer. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturdays during December and January.
